St Ignatius encouraged Jesuits to set and work toward ambitious goals that give more glory and honor to God. This is how the Latin word magis, which means more, worked its way into the Jesuit lexicon. When setting goals or choosing paths, we ought to choose that which brings more glory and honor to God.
In that light, this summer U of D Jesuit High School and Academy held its first Magis Ride fundraiser. This first Magis Ride was a 360 mile bicycle ride from Mackinaw City to Detroit to benefit the Magis Program for academic assistance and the student Immersion Experiences offered by the Service department. A group of riders from the U of D Jesuit community began in Mackinaw City on July 10th and pedaled to a glorious finish at U of D Jesuit on July 13th.
