St Ignatius encouraged Jesuits to set and work toward ambitious goals that give more glory and honor to God. This is how the Latin word magis, which means more, worked its way into the Jesuit lexicon. When setting goals or choosing paths we ought to choose that which brings more glory and honor to God.
In that light, this summer U of D Jesuit High School and Academy will hold the first Magis Ride fundraiser. This first incarnation of the Magis Ride will be a 360 mile bicycle ride from Mackinaw City to Detroit to benefit the Magis Program for academic assistance and the student Immersion Experiences offered by the Service department. A small group of riders from the U of D Jesuit community will begin in Mackinaw City on July 10th and pedal to a glorious finish - God willing - at U of D Jesuit on July 13th.
If you would like to make a donation to support the Magis Program and Immersion Experiences, please use the form below. If you would like more information on the Magis Ride, please contact me at Nicholas.rennpage@uofdJesuit.org.
Onward, toward the Magis!
