Immersion Experiences

The Ignatian Service Office at U of D Jesuit offers students, alumni, and faculty opportunities to participate in week-long service trips locally, nationally, and internationally. Many of these experiences help participants gain a better understanding of the culture and society in which they are working. By working directly with individuals in need, participants are able to see how their actions benefit not only those they are serving, but also how serving has its own reward.

El Salvador Immersion Experience

Students have the opportunity to spend nine days learning and experiencing the current situation in El Salvador, including economic, immigration, and social justice issues. Students will meet with government officials, local leaders, reflect on the life and impact of Oscar Romero, and participate in a three day “home-stay” in a rural village.
