Faculty Teaching Positions
University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy is seeking an outstanding, highly qualified Spanish teacher. Responsibilities include teaching reading, writing, listening, speaking, and culture in the Spanish language; designing engaging student-centered lesson plans; and creating innovative assessments. The ideal candidate must be able to form relationships with high school students, be well-trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies, and model what it looks like to be a reflective and lifelong learner. This position teaches three sections of Spanish I on a part-time faculty contract. All are scheduled in the morning.
U of D Jesuit is searching for a Building Substitute Teacher. This position reports to the school for every day of scheduled classes to be the substitute teacher for classes when the permanent teacher is out of the building. The “building sub” works with the Principal’s Office to ensure classes are supervised and lesson plans followed each day. The “building sub” may be asked to prefect lobbies and the cafeteria as needed throughout the day. The “building sub” is a critical component to the daily operation of the school.
Non-Faculty Positions
Cub Corner is the U of D Jesuit Spirit Merchandise store. The Sales Associate is responsible for assisting with customer sales, inventory control, and maintaining the store’s atmosphere, to include cleaning, organizing, restocking and merchandising.
The Director of Advancement Events provides overall leadership and execution for the annual events hosted by the Advancement Department in collaboration with department leadership and other members of the Advancement team.
U of D Jesuit High School and Academy has immediate availability for a Varsity Head Hockey Coach for its athletic program. Our first priority as a school is the formation of Men for Others. Our athletic programs are an extension of this priority to teach student-athletes dedication, brotherhood, and excellence. The Head Hockey Coach should possess the skills to teach these values to our students.
The Director of Admissions and Outreach Coordinator will play a strategic role in key aspects of U of D Jesuit’s enrollment and marketing efforts. This position will work directly with the Director of Enrollment and School Marketing to ensure the story of the school’s mission is told in a powerful, engaging, and consistent manner through student recruitment, outreach, and communication methods. The position works with the Director of Enrollment and School Marketing and the entire department to design and implement the High School and Academy enrollment and marketing plans of U of D Jesuit.
University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy seeks a Head Coach for its FIRST Robotics Team. The FIRST Robotics Team is a unique school activity in which students work with engineering mentors, school advisors, and each other to design, build, program, and compete with a robot against other teams worldwide. The U of D Jesuit team is Team 1701, aka The Robocubs. As a team, they strive to build a culture, within the school and throughout the city of Detroit, that encourages and celebrates science, technology, engineering, and math, that operates with integrity and professionalism, and that strives to achieve justice in access to technology and knowledge.
