Faculty Teaching Positions
University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy is seeking an outstanding full-time Academy science teacher. Candidates should have a desire to work with all grade levels at U of D Jesuit and to teach mainstream and honors courses. Duties would include instruction for a mix of five sections of science courses. Additional duties would include one period of student prefecting and one homeroom period in accordance with department/school policies in effect at the time of hire. The ideal candidate must be a relationship builder, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
U of D Jesuit is seeking an outstanding performing arts teacher with proficiency in strings, vocal music, and liturgical music. Duties would include responsibility for the school’s choir, string orchestra, liturgies, and pep band. Candidates with strong music theory, piano accompanist abilities, and an additional arts or academic minor are preferred. The ideal candidate has the ability to build a program with strong support from the school.
U of D Jesuit High School and Academy is seeking an outstanding, highly qualified Spanish teacher for the 2025-26 school year. Responsibilities include the formation of students intellectually by teaching reading, writing, listening, speaking, and culture in the Spanish language; designing engaging student-centered lesson plans; and creating innovative assessments. The ideal candidate must be a relationship builder, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies, and model what it looks like to be a reflective and lifelong learner. This position teaches three sections on a part-time faculty contract. All are scheduled in the morning.

Responsibilities include the formation of students intellectually and spiritually through the study and appropriation of the Catholic and Christian tradition, especially through the specific lens of Ignatian Spirituality and the Jesuit tradition. The ideal candidate must be a relationship builder, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be well trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies including the use of primary sources and inquiry-based instruction.
Non-Faculty Positions
U of D Jesuit is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Fundraising Assistant to provide critical support to the Advancement Department. This position is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to the department, predominantly via data entry, donor acknowledgment, mailings, event registration, online donations, and donor inquiries, as well as other assigned duties and responsibilities.
University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy seeks a Head Coach for its FIRST Robotics Team. The FIRST Robotics Team is a unique school activity in which students work with engineering mentors, school advisors, and each other to design, build, program, and compete with a robot against other teams worldwide. The U of D Jesuit team is Team 1701, aka The Robocubs. As a team, they strive to build a culture, within the school and throughout the city of Detroit, that encourages and celebrates science, technology, engineering, and math, that operates with integrity and professionalism, and that strives to achieve justice in access to technology and knowledge.
