Joe Louis Park, Johnson Recreation Center, and the Jesuits
The pending sale of Joe Louis Park and the Johnson Recreation Center to U of D Jesuit is great news for our students and the community surrounding the park.
The project name is J3, which stands for Joe Louis, Johnson, and Jesuits – a testimonial to the mission of the Jesuits united with the heritage of the neighborhood. J3 will give us another platform for community involvement through mentoring, tutoring, service, and sports. This park and recreational facility, just a few blocks from our main campus, will offer our young men a unique student experience, unlike any other in Metro Detroit.
