Toastmaster Meeting — April 15, | 5:30PM - 7:00PM

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that builds confidence and teaches public speaking skills through a worldwide network of clubs that meet online and in person. In a supportive community or corporate environment, members prepare and deliver speeches, respond to impromptu questions, and give and receive constructive feedback. Please join our club for our next meeting!

Art Workshops — April 27, | 12:00PM - 1:00PM

In this 1-day Workshop, open to ages 7 and above, the instructor will introduce students to landscape art techniques. Supplies will be provided.

Adult Intro to Spanish — Thursdays | 5:00PM-6:00PM

Have you always wanted to learn another language? Come and join the community and our Director for our Introductory Course that offers some basic tools to get you started. The class is held on Mondays & Thursdays from 5:00PM-6:00PM. You may choose to join either day of the week. This is an opportunity to learn from a university instructor at no cost! Don't miss this opportunity as space may be limited.

Adult Group Fitness — Saturdays 8:00 - 9:00

In partnership with Fit 4 Life Health & Wellness, LLC., the Johnson Recreation Center is offering a 12 Week Group Fitness program that focuses on a variety of fitness levels to help participants build strength, flexibility, balance, endurance and much more!! Classes run on Saturdays from 8:00AM - 9:00AM

Ballroom Dance —  Thursdays | 7:00PM - 9:00PM

Come and join us on Thursday nights from 7-9PM at the Johnson Recreation Center for an evening of ballroom dancing. Whether you're a beginner or a novice, this class is a total blast! Sign up on the link below!

Adult Education Program — Open Enrollment

In partnership with the St. Vincent Sarah and Fisher Center, the U of D Jesuit Johnson Recreation Center is offering Adult Education Programs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the North Center Campus known as Johnson Recreation Center. New enrollment intake is held during the hours listed.

Join the Johnson Community today!

We welcome the community to join us in the re-opening of the historic Johnson Recreation Center. The new Performance, Athletics, Recreation Campus includes three fields on Joe Louis Park, and the 34,000 sq. ft. Johnson Recreation Center. The center provides large spaces for athletics, retreats, academic support programs, and community youth tutoring initiatives. Additionally, the center will be offering a variety of community activities and events throughout the calendar year.

Registration will be required for attendance to most events. Becoming a member is the first step of the process. Simply complete the online form(s) listed below and that's it! As events are scheduled, they will be posted below in the "Upcoming Events" section of the site.

Facility Usage Agreement — Release & Indemnity Agreement

All guests must complete a Facility Usage Agreement Form prior to entering the property. Please fill out both sections of this form to complete the facility use process for adults. This form is to be completed only by applicants over the age of 18. You may access the form by clicking the following link.

Outdoor Facilities

Outdoor Basketball Court

The outdoor basketball court is open from dawn to dusk for public use unless reserved for a Special Event.

Joe Louis Park Playground

PlayGround is open from dawn to dusk for use unless reserved for a Special Event.

Sports Fields

The grass fields will open for use after August 15. This is to ensure the new sod takes root. Use of the grass fields is STRICTLY PROHIBITED until after August 15.
