Important Message from Dr. Wolfe

January 24, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to give context to the information reported on this week’s COVID-19 dashboard.

Four cases involving COVID-19 positive individuals were reported. Immediate contact tracing resulted in 24 individuals entering quarantine. The majority of those in quarantine were due to events not related to U of D Jesuit. However, participants were all students at our school.

The Detroit Health Department and I did an extensive review of this week’s cases and the steps that were taken. They confirmed U of D Jesuit is not a site of an outbreak. This week’s events did reiterate the need to practice social distancing, mask wearing, and other measures known to decrease the risk of infection.

We are all fatigued with the effects this pandemic has placed on our lives, however, we cannot become complacent. The choices we make (whether student/parent/faculty/staff) have the potential to impact our entire U of D Jesuit Community in a multitude of ways.

Your support and transparency remain instrumental in keeping the U of D Jesuit Community informed and safe.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

We continue to pray for those impacted by COVID-19.

Sincerely,

Deb Wolfe, M.D.
