The U of D Jesuit swim & dive team is a formidable force in the world of high school competitive swimming. U of D Jesuit Swim & Dive is more than a team, it is a brotherhood built on hard work, high expectations, and the belief that when we compete for something bigger than ourselves, incredible things can happen. Since Head Coach Drew Edson took over the program in 2016, the Cubs have grown from a program chasing the best teams in Michigan into one of the premier high school swimming and diving programs in the state. The rise has been remarkable: U of D Jesuit broke a 51-year drought to reclaim the Catholic League Championship, has earned multiple Catholic League titles, and has finished among the top four teams in the state for six consecutive seasons. That stretch includes State Runner-Up finishes in 2022 and 2023, a fourth-place finish in 2024, the first MHSAA State Championship in program history in 2025, and another State Runner-Up finish in 2026. Along the way, Cubs have become State Champions, All-Americans, state record holders, school record holders, and collegiate student-athletes, but the greatest accomplishment remains the culture that made all of it possible.

At U of D Jesuit, we believe fast swimming is the result of doing the important things right first. Our program challenges young men to become great teammates, relentless competitors, leaders, and above all, Men for Others. Every swimmer and diver matters, whether he is competing for a State Championship, scoring his first varsity point, or simply becoming better than he was yesterday. The 2026–27 Cubs are led by Head Coach Drew Edson, alongside coaches Eric Schuman, Matt Comment '14, Owen O'Neill, and Diving Coach John Santeiu '10. Together, our staff is committed to continuing to build a program where young men are pushed to achieve things they never thought possible while creating friendships and memories that last far beyond their final race. The standard is high. The expectations are higher. The brotherhood is real. Come be part of what we are building at The High.
