Ski

U of D Jesuit Alpine Ski Racing Team are among the fastest high school athletes. The team competes in the Mt. Brighton High School Ski Association.

No experience running gates is required to join the team. If you've ever snow skied, you can be part of the team. It's a winter pursuit filled with excitement, offering the potential for a state championship that crowns a season of hard-fought competitions.

Our team embarks on pre-season, off-the-mountain physical conditioning, and by late-December (conditions permitting), the team assembles at Mr. Brighton to begin on-snow training and an introduction to the racing hill. The season culminates with the MBHSSA league championship in early February and the MHSAA regional qualifier in mid-February.

High school skiing, much like other interscholastic sports, is a blend of inclusivity and competition, combining individual races with team efforts aimed at success.

"I am both grateful and excited for the opportunity to accept the position of Head Ski Coach at University of Detroit Jesuit. This appointment is particularly meaningful to me, as I am a former athlete of the program, having skied on the team from 2005 to 2009. I look forward to continuing my time coaching at U of D Jesuit, following my fourth seasons as an academy soccer coach." - Head Coach, Jacob Lyon '09, Varsity Skiing
