Accommodations and Academic Support

At University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, students benefit from excellent accommodations tailored to their individual needs, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

The School also offers robust academic support programs, ensuring students receive the guidance and resources necessary to excel academically and reach their fullest potential. The following accommodations are available for students:

Testing

  • Extended test time
  • Reader for tests
  • Use of 4-function calculator 
  • Permission to type written responses
  • Permission to write on test (no scantron)
  • Enlarged or special font

Classroom

  • Preferential seating (front of room/closest to instructor) 
  • Copy of lecture notes/peer notes
  • Permission to type notes

Additional Academic Support

  • Homework and content area help  
  • Arrupe Learning Center
  • Active learning/study strategy help
  • Writing Lab
  • Monthly Student Success Seminars
  • Directed Study Class
  • Check-Out Program after school for daily planner, organization checks

Accommodations for the ACT and College Board Exams

Please complete and return the forms on the links below to request accommodations on the ACT and College Boards exams. The final decision for accommodations for standardized testing will be made by the testing companies (ACT, College Boards, and others).

REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY: 

1. A psycho-educational evaluation administered by a licensed professional that includes measures of both academic and intellectual functioning.

2. The evaluation must provide a current DSM IV-R diagnosis and stipulate in its Recommendations Section that the student would benefit from the accommodation.

3. The evaluation must have been completed within the last three years.
