Can you help to endow the Brandon Spight Memorial
Scholarship Fund?

The Brandon Spight Scholarship Fund was created to
continue the legacy of Brandon Spight The challenge is to provide a
mechanism that will endow the fund.
Brandon’s family has decided to collect and
publish letters, thoughts and memories to and about Brandon in a book
tentatively titled, “Dear Brandon.” You are invited
to take part in this project by submitting a photo, letter, memory, or
words that have some meaning to you and your relationship with Brandon.
To participate, please submit your thoughts, memories or
photos via email to cspight@sbcglobal.net or mail them to 18625
Wildemere, Detroit, MI 48221. Entries are requested by June 15, 2008,
and contributors will be asked to sign a release form allowing use of

U of D Jesuit mission to Honduras in desperate need of vitamins

We are in desperate need of multivitamins for children and adults in Honduras. We typically distribute just under 50,000 vitamins while we are in Honduras. Right now we have approximately 20,000.

Five U of D Jesuit seniors honored at Catholic League Operation Friendship Scholar Athlete Banquet |

At the Annual Catholic League Operation Friendship Scholar Athletic Banquet for graduating seniors U of D Jesuit recorded an amazing number of winners (5 in one year)! The following senior nominees edged out all other Catholic High School nominees to win their respective sports award:
James Pearson won the Frank Guyott Award for cross country Robert Eckert won the Bernard Krzywada Award for swimming Jeffrey Harness won the Scholar-Athlete-Leader Award for skiing Phil Presnell won the Brother George Synan Award for soccer Michael Cole wont he Msgr. Carroll Deady Award for tennis
These nominees are all judged on the combination of academic(above a 3.2gpa) and athletic accomplishments, service work, and comments/recommendations from a coach, the athletic director, and the school principal. Their names will be indelibly marked in the record books (and on the web site) at the Catholic High School League. Congratulations to all our special seniors!

U of D Jesuit appoints new Auction Director

U of D Jesuit is pleased to announce that Alice Barringer will assume the duties of Auction Director effective June 2, 2008. For the past five years Alice has served as the Development Manager at Angela Hospice. Alice was a Co-Chair of the 2000 Auction. She was also President of the Mothers' Club for the '01 - '02 school year. Two of her sons graduated from The High, Matt in '01 and Andy in '03.

Fr. George Follen, S.J. passed away
on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. A wake and funeral were held at Coloumbiere.
Fr. Follen was a Legendary Teacher at The High from 1967-1992. |
U of D Jesuit students qualify for State Quiz Bowl
Championship Competition

Congratulations to the following students who placed 6th
out of 24 teams for the State Championship Quiz Bowl competition. This
is the highest placement that U of D Jesuit has ever achieved.

Williams (juniors).
