Summer Programs

University of Detroit Jesuit High School Summer School

Pre-Freshman Summer courses in math, English and language arts are currently only offered to incoming UDJ freshmen to assist them in the transition to rigors of the academic expectations ahead of them. These courses will run June 21 - July 16, 2010. Registrations will be taken starting April 19, 2010.

In addition to these courses, Computer Applications is open to all high school and pre-freshmen students who desire to complete this requirement during the summer on a pass/fail basis. Details on dates, times, and fees will be available April 19, 2010.

New this summer! Art I is being offered as a one-week summer course for all high school and pre-freshmen students.  This course may be used to fulfill the 1/2 credit required for graduation and will be taught as a pass/fail class.  The last day of the class will be a trip to the DIA.  Make sure to include the field trip permission form with your course registration.  Preference will be given to students who have not fulfilled their Art requirement.

Students in the class of 2011 may begin registering for summer classes beginning April 19, 2010.  Any student may register for remaining spots beginning May 10, 2010.  Completed forms and full payment are required for a registration to be accepted.

Grade Remediation at other Summer Schools

Except for Theology courses, any student who receives a failing grade must make up the deficiency in a summer school approved by the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs. To be eligible to return to the University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy the following year, the student must make up all failing grades from the previous year. The grades will be recorded on the student's transcript, but do not replace the deficient grade. The grades are not calculated into the cumulative grade point average. Click here for a link to approved summer school programs.

Theology courses which require remediation will be offered as independent study in the UDJ summer school. Students who have transferred into University of Detroit Jesuit High School are also encouraged to take required Theology courses through this program.

Courses taken in a summer school program cannot be substituted for courses required at UDJ.
