The U of D Jesuit Quiz Bowl Team qualified for Nationals by clinching 3rd Place in States at Michigan State University in April. This year's U of D Jesuit Team was the first to compete at Nationals in Chicago, June 12-14, 2010. U of D Jesuit was one of 50 teams represented in Chicago.  The team which competed included Zachary Smith '10, Curtis Schuelke '11, Andrew Gutman '12, Eric Kuhn '12, Grady Peck '12 and Benjamin Peck '12 .

Each team played 6 games on Saturday and Sunday in the elimination rounds. Teams finishing Sunday with a 4-2 record or better entered the playoff round on Monday. After a 1-2 start in the elimination round, U of D Jesuit was successful in the next 3 "must-win" games to qualify for the playoff round on Monday. Despite losing the first game in the playoff round, U of D Jesuit finished ranking 16th of the 50 teams which entered.

The team enjoyed the hospitality of Chicago during free time and thanks the City of Chicago for its support. One of the city papers reported, "CUBS HAD WINNING WEEKEND". What more can be said?
