Hank Cooney '69 and Mike Schmidt '67 were featured in The Docket,a U of D Mercy Law School alumni magazine, as two UDM Law alumni who are Managing Partners in southeast Michigan. Crain's Detroit Business recently listed the top 25 law firms in metro-Detroit, Plunkett Cooney, PC and Harvey Kruse, PC were both on that list at number 8 and 23 respectively.

The U of D Jesuit Quiz Bowl Team qualified for Nationals by clinching 3rd Place in States at Michigan State University in April. This year's U of D Jesuit Team was the first to compete at Nationals in Chicago, June 12-14, 2010. U of D Jesuit was one of 50 teams represented in Chicago. The team which competed included Zachary Smith '10, Curtis Schuelke '11, Andrew Gutman '12, Eric Kuhn '12, Grady Peck '12 and Benjamin Peck '12 .
Tom LaRouere earned All-State All-Academic honors and Joe Hooks earned All-State honorable mention honors in Division 1. They helped lead the team to its third straight appearance in State Finals this year.
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced the appointment of William C. McConico '91 as judge of the 36th District Court, which serves the city of Detroit, for a term expiring January 1, 2013.

For the first time U of D Jesuit's Quiz Bowl Team will be competing in the National QUIZ BOWL Championships from June 12-14 in Chicago. The team earned an invitation by placing 3rd in the State Championships held at MSU in April. The 6 students comprising the team are; Zachary Smith '10, Curtis Schuelke '11, Andrew Gutman '12, Eric Kuhn '12, Ben Peck '12 and Grady Peck '12. Moderator Ed Roberge will accompany the students.
Congratulations to Cub Varsity golfers on their 2nd place showing at MHSAA regionals on Thursday. The Cubs finished with a 302. Senior Brian Gardner celebrated his birthday by shooting a one under par 71 on the Orchards Golf Course.
