Believe it or not, it is time to start thinking about electing the Mothers' Club Executive Board for the next school year! The election process has been enhanced, so please click on the ELECTION link and read the information carefully.
Please remember when you enter the driveway from Seven Mile that this is a two way drive and you need to stay on the right hand side. When driving on school property please be cautious, do not exceed the 10 mph speed limit and watch closely for pedestrians in the driveway. Your cooperation has insured people walking in the lots and driveways are safe. Let's make this another accident free season.
Still looking for a good New Year's resolution? Why not become a "Parent for Others!" The Parent Partnership Initiative aims to close the gap between what it costs to educate our sons and the amount that is charged for tuition. This year that gap is approximately $2,250 per student. We all know that times are tough, but that's when we most need your support. The money we receive is important, but so is the number of donors (because that impacts U of D's eligibility to receive foundation grants). Any donation of any amount is appreciated and welcomed.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Well, we are more than halfway through the school year as hard as that is to believe. I often ask my students to reflect upon their lives at various points throughout the year. As a school, we do this daily in our examen. Reflection, as you know, is at the heart of Ignatian pedagogy. With this in mind, I thought I would take a few moments here to reflect upon the first semester as we are already engaged in semester two in the year 2010.
The year started out with enthusiasm and excitement. Orientation went smoothly and quickly, largely due to our new system of online book ordering. Fall sporting events were well attended, and everyone seemed genuinely happy about being together again. Spiritually, a number of retreats took place, including two Kairoses and seven freshmen days of reflection. The band performed exceedingly well, with their biggest audiences at the football games. The fall play was a success and numbers were very high at our annual Open House. The Walkathon raised a substantial amount of money, most of which goes to our co-curricular activities. MUN, robotics, the newspaper, and daily news broadcasts have been quite successful and of high quality - another hallmark of Jesuit education. Perhaps the high point of the semester was a three-day visit by Time magazine which resulted in a very positive look at our school.
Yee Haw! Mother & Son Square Dance will take place Saturday, March 20. Mass will begin at 4:30 p.m. and dinner to follow right after.
All mail, registration forms, flyers, etc. addressed to the Mothers' Club or Dads' Club should now be dropped off in their new mailboxes located in the Atrium along the west wall
A brief, informational meeting will be held for parents of current students who are interested in applying for financial aid for the 2010-2011 school year. This meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd at 7 PM in the school Chapel (please note the new meeting place). Please e-mail Mrs. Kathy Coccia if you have any questions.
This is a reminder that financial aid applications for current students for the academic year 2010-2011 are due to FACTS by Friday, March 5th.
